November 25th, 2025, 9:30-13:30
Mediterranean Palace, DIAS Hall
On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 09:30 to 13:30, in the DIAS Hall of the Mediterranean Palace Hotel, the research results of the SEAWave project (https://seawave-project.eu/), funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe program, will be presented to the public of Thessaloniki.
Members of the Radiocommunications Laboratory of the Department of Physics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), who actively participated in the project, will present both the overall achievements of the international research consortium and the specific contributions of the AUTH research team.
The SEAWave project focused on assessing exposure and the corresponding risk from wireless communication systems (5G and beyond) across all age groups — from children to the elderly.
During the event, the following will be presented:
• The objectives and overall methodology of the SEAWave project
• The use of artificial intelligence and innovative tools, such as mobile apps, for estimating exposure to radiation from mobile telephony base stations
• Emerging wireless network technologies in workplaces
• New techniques for calculating the absorption of 5G millimeter-wave radiation by the skin
• The biological effects of 5G millimeter-wave radiation on cells, laboratory animals, and humans, based on studies conducted within SEAWave
• Innovative technological solutions resulting from the research process and their broader impact
Participation in the event does not require prior registration. A light lunch will be offered at the end of the session.
