Abstract:
Three alternative interpretations of the gravitational interaction, and the respective alternative geometrical formulations of General Relativity are reviewed at an introductory level. It is suggested that the canonical formulation is based on flat affine geometry, and resolves the problem of gravitational energy. Possible extensions of the theory are discussed.
